On Thursday, February 26, 2015, the Future Leaders Development Program was presented to the post-graduates students at the University of Piraeus.

A warm welcome was extended by Dr. Demetrius Yannelis, Professor and Director of the M.Sc. Programme “Economic and Business Strategy” and Dr Irene Fafaliou is Associate Professor in Enterpreneurship and Small & Medium Business Support Policies at the Economics Department of the University of Piraeus.

Mr. George Katsouranis, General Manager at the Center of Sustainable Enterpreneurship of Piraeus Bank Group presented the requirements for responsible youth entrepreneurship that encompass value adding propositions to our whole ecosystem.

Top Management representatives from the Founding and Fellow members of the Future Leaders platform, namely:

WIND (Mr. George Douzinas and Ms. Tereza Mpetsi),

AB VASILOPOULOS (Mr. Aris Balagas),

MINERBA (Ms. Panagiota Tsiboura) and

PIRAEUS BANK GROUYP (Ms. Heleni Beneki).

 

shared their experiences and benefits gained during the 11-days of their close cooperation and teamwork with the post graduate teams and the development of their coaching and leadership expertise.

Messrs. Thomas Floros and Kostas Sokos, both program graduates since last November, presented respectively the “ARCHELON” project for the protection of Caretta – Caretta sea turtle and the launching of the Future Leaders Alumni.

The General Manager of the “ARCHELON” NGO thanked the teams of Future Leaders for their thorough and practical work presented, with

over 75% success rate of the recommended improvements, being adopted by the Board of Directors and already being implemented.

Following, Mr. Ilias Chadiarakos, Future Leaders Program Director, presented the structure and the stakeholders of the Future Leaders Program and its efforts to bridge the gap between academia and business. The uniqueness and innovative nature of the Program provides a life learning experience and participation is highly recommended. The scheduled dates for 2015 workshops are:

  • Spring 2015:         22/4/2015 – 3/5/2015
  • Summer 2015:      15/7/2015 – 26/7/2015
  • Fall 2015:             4/11/2015 – 15/11/2015

Mr. Stelios Pigadiotis, founder of Scout-Global and our closing guest speaker, elaborated on the need for more employee engagement and the needed competencies for a successful career path.
