New change proposals for the internal structure and organization of the international organization SOS Children’s Villages.
The first SOS Children’s Village was founded in 1949 by HERMANN GMEINER in Imst, Tyrol of Austria. He was a man committed to help children who are in need of care because they have lost their parents, their homes and their safety as a result of WWII. SOS Children’s Villages provide to abandoned, orphaned and destitute children a new and permanent home. The children receive a suitable education and sound preparation for independence in adult life. The practical implications of the SOS Children’s Village idea have had a powerful influence on work with abandoned and orphaned children worldwide.
